Miami Children's Hospital Foundation’s (MCHF) Diamond Recognition Society honors those who contribute financial support to the Foundation. MCHF is a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to create awareness and generate funds for Miami Children's Hospital (MCH), the "Diamond of the South".
MCHF greatly appreciates the generous contributions of individuals, corporations and foundations. The Diamond Recognition Society honors donors on a scale based on diamond colors, with the rarest-hued diamonds reflecting the largest contributions.
Diamond Recognition starts at $15,000, the Champagne Diamond level, and progresses to the rarest Red Diamond for contributions of $10,000,000 or higher. The diamond levels are based on the cumulative donations made to MCHF, so as individuals or organizations continue to donate, they progress to the uniquely rare diamond levels.
Diamond Recognition Society members are honored by MCHF at a special reception to thank them for their support and contributions.
The genesis of MCHF's "diamond" theme stems from MCHF President, Lucy Morillo, who recognized the diamonds on the Hospital's exterior walls. Having always considered children precious gems, Lucy tied the two thoughts together with the recognition of MCH’s excellence in regional pediatric care and coined the Hospital "Diamond of the South". Children are our greatest treasure and a Diamond Recognition Society member's gift signifies a commitment to tomorrow’s youth.
